Free Class!!
Throughout much of history, women have had other women with them during childbirth to help ease them through the transition into motherhood. While this tradition faded away in the last century, recent years have seen a resurgance of mothers wanting that woman's touch during this special time. The modern-day doula, or professional labor assistant, has emerged to fill this role.
We will be having a panel of four doulas discussing the work they do, what the doula's role is at a birth, and sharing stories from the births that they have attended. We will be having a question and answer session so feel free to come prepared with questions to ask!
Come meet other mommies and mommies-to-be. Light refreshments will be served. No reservations necessary. Children are always welcome. Stay and socialize after the class.
The doulas participating in this class will be focused on educating the community, not obtaining clients. However, anybody interested in hiring a doula should feel free to talk to the doulas about their services during the social time after the class. |
