Only four hospitals allow fathers to witness caesareans
Out of 45 public hospitals contacted in a survey carried out by Portuguese daily newspaper Diário de Notícias, almost all of them prohibited fathers from witnessing their children being born by caesarean due to risk of infection. Only one private hospital said fathers had to wait outside.
